This workshop is perfect for anyone who has never sewn before or who is returning after a long absence and would like to regain their sewing confidence.
It runs for five hours over two half days (6-8.30pm, 14 & 21 February 2018).
When you have completed this workshop you will know how to operate your machine and how to use its basic feet, and how to lay out and cut a basic pattern. We will discuss different fabrics and their uses. And, you will leave with new found sewing confidence and a lovely cushion made by you!
In this workshop you will learn:
With these skills, you will make a cushion cover from the fabric colour of your choice. When you have completed this course, you will be ready to move on to 'Beginning Sewing Module 2' and add to your skills.
Everything you need to complete this workshop is included. Sewing machines are provided. If you are bringing your own machine, please ensure that it is good working order and all of the basic feet are included.
You will not need to bring anything else to class. You will receive:

- how to lay out and cut a basic pattern
- how to choose a commercial pattern in the correct size
- different seam finishes and when to use them
- pattern and sewing terms.
